In a study on 33,000 woman conducted by Harvard, the researchers found that women who had the most trans fat in their blood cells had three times the risk of heart disease when compared to the women with the lowest levels.
Trans fats are very commonly found in |
processed foods such as cookies, cakes, chips, and fast foods.
BEWARE: Under the current rules, items with up to 0.5 grams of trans fat can be labeled as having zero grams of trans fat. To ensure you are avoiding all trans-fat, check the ingredients for hydrogenated vegetable oil (even if it’s only partially hydrogenated).
